Each Fenixar song begins as one of Wayne J. Keeley’s poems — some written decades ago — and is now brought to life as cinematic indie-pop. These are more than tracks; they are chapters in a personal journey of consequence, redemption, and rebirth.

Karmic Debts

The debut single. The lyrics were written as a meditation on the invisible debts we carry through life — regrets, broken bridges, and the price of past choices. Inspired by Wayne’s decades of storytelling in film and law, the song explores the idea that some debts must eventually be paid in this life or the next. Dense atmospheric production and intimate vocals create a haunting, cinematic experience that feels both philosophical and deeply personal.

Soft Comes The Dawn

The very first poem Wayne ever wrote — at age 14. Inspired by a line from a Dean Koontz short story, it was later published and used in the off-off-Broadway play Waiting On The Sun that Wayne and his wife Stephanie produced. This track is the hopeful companion in the soulmate story: one half of a pair finding the other as the “infant sun” dispels the lonely night. Calm, emotional vocals and warm production capture the moment two broken pieces finally become whole again.

Shine On Me

The mirror image and emotional answer to Soft Comes The Dawn. Also rooted in Wayne’s early poetry, this song flips the perspective — the other soulmate stepping out of darkness into light. It celebrates the joyful reunion when two halves recognize each other and shine brighter together. Dreamy synths, lush arrangements, and uplifting vocals deliver that “first light” feeling of hope and renewal.

Black Dog

The first song in a powerful trilogy about living with depression. The title comes from Winston Churchill’s famous metaphor for his own periods of depression — the “black dog.” This track is encouraging and deeply relatable: we all face the black dog at times. It explores the weight, the ghostly presence, and the quiet struggle, ultimately offering a message of acceptance, coping, and eventual triumph. The song is part of a larger story that shows how one can rise above the darkness and reinvent oneself.

Why Not Me

A bold, empowering anthem about self-worth and claiming your place in the world. This track asks the question we all face at some point: “Why not me?” It celebrates the moment we stop waiting for permission and decide it’s our turn to rise, shine, and take up space. With strong vocals and uplifting production, it fits perfectly into Fenixar’s theme of rebirth and becoming the person you were always meant to be.
